About

Sarah J. Niederbuhl, PT, DPT, OCS, Cert. DN, LMT

At the start of my career I was hooked on anatomy in massage school. Looking beneath the surface at our adept and beautiful assembly, sparked a quest to learn more and do more for the population. I received my massage therapy license in 2005 and began venturing the many branches of alternative medicine and wellness. A few of the more impactful approaches I studied were Shiatsu (Traditional Chinese Medicine), craniosacral therapy, nutrition, yoga therapy, neuromuscular/trigger point release, and resistance training.

Although native to the scenic Adirondack Park of upstate New York, I left home for educational and recreational pursuits. I skied, ran, and backpacked through the Rockies, southern Utah, and the Pacific Northwest while honing my manual skills as a massage therapist and diving deeper into academics. I completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience, then went on to achieve a doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) in 2016. By focusing solely on orthopedic rehabilitation in clinical practice and passing a rigorous exam on evidence-based treatments, I was awarded a specialty certification in orthopedics (OCS) in 2019.

With the majority of my professional experience being in Teton County, I am especially drawn to working with farmers, manual laborers, artists, and sports enthusiasts of all kinds. My history in alternative medicine and wellness continues to inform my practice as a physical therapist.

In utilizing my education to work through various personal injuries over the years, I became fueled by a mantra: Onward. I am reminded of and inspired by this mantra with the progress of each patient as well. While providing the right environment to overcome injury is something I spent many years learning how to do, I now embrace it as an art, an instinct, and a passion. That said, this profession is as rewarding and healing for me as it is for each of you.

With a trifecta of tools to enhance recovery – physical therapy, massage, and nutrition – this business is dedicated to your process of moving forward: Onward.
